About this site
To most people, learning seems to be an obligation. I don’t think so. Learning is the process from which arises structure, allowing us—at least in one's head—dominion over the past, to then perceive identity and pursue a coherent future. To me, being deliberate about your learning is what comes closest to owning your life. It’s the in-between of who you are and the person you want to become.
This project will be a documentation of my attempts to be a deliberate learner. I’d like to become a comprehensivist—a person who, unlike a specialist, covers a broad range of topics but, unlike a generalist, strives for a high level of proficiency. Simply put, someone who can put in their two cents on everything. In contrast to the SMART goals you learned about in school, this endeavour is neither realistic nor time-bound, which is why this project never has to come to an end. At the same time, it’ll be specific, measurable, and attractive enough that you’ll definitely want to read about it.
You can expect articles either on a range of topics I am learning about or on the learning process itself. Interested? Subscribe to my newsletter to stay updated on new posts!
